welcome

welcome to six06.com. this is version 5, and i hope it will be much easier to navigate [i.e. no broken links!] than the last inception, which was first launched in 2003. i’m now using wordpress v. 2.5.1 to manage my entries and pages, so it’s much easier than coding by hand [though, i still have to remember to update the galleries the old fashioned way].

what’s new:

  • sleeker design : the last version was one i’d created myself by use of tables and css, which tends to get messy if things get too complicated.
  • quality over quantity : i have done away with the number of galleries featuring different mediums and have just decided to keep a few key ones that showcase my favorite works. the largest of these galleries is the oil since that is mostly what i’m doing these days. i still work in other mediums, but most of those can be found in my blog or my etsy shop.
  • merch : speaking of etsy, now it’s easier than ever to purchase originals, prints and giclees.
  • giclees : i finally have access to quality printing on canvas. i handstretch these myself and many of them have been repainted to either enhance the original or, in some cases, create an entirely new painting altogether. you can view those here and, if available, can be purchased here.
  • newsletter : sign up for an occasional newsletter from me regarding events or exciting news.
  • events : for upcoming appearances, exhibits and events, please check out the related posts in my blog.
  • blog : the purpose of using wordpress was to easily integrate a blog into my site.
  • work in progress : now it’s easier to see the process of my working on a new piece by viewing the entries i make in my blog. oftentimes i talk about the techniques involved and the obstacles and accomplishments during the process.
  • search : by being able to create categories and having each post archived, it’s now easy to locate pages and old posts via the “categories” listed in the drop down menu above [button labeled "open navigation"]
